Our Ethos
🇬🇧 Year 1 enjoyed a school trip into the city on the Uber boat. The children were buzzing with excitement as they sailed along the Thames, immersing themselves in their activity books, which enhanced their understanding of the sights.
They learnt all about the sights and came back to the classroom and created writing pieces, sharing their personal reflections and detailed accounts of their trip.
World book day 🌍 📚
What a fantastic day we’ve had celebrating world book day. Both children and staff dressed up as their favourite book characters.
The day started off with our annual ‘catwalk’ in front of the parents and then parents were invited into the classes to read with their children.
The outfits were brilliant and it’s been great to hear all about everyone’s favourite book 📖
This week Year 5 and 6 visited @thepoppyfactory where poppies have been made since the late 1920s.
The visit began with an informative talk and video on the history of the poppy as a symbol of remembrance, and finished with the children being given the opportunity to make traditional poppies.
This ties in with their topic of the new term ‘Britain at War’. Our memorable experiences always take place at the start of the term and is a great way to ignite the children’s enthusiasm and inspire them to learn more.
Sport at Wandsworth Prep ⚽️ 🧗 🏊 🏑 🥅
As well as our #PE lessons during the week which are held at school and at the Wandle Recreation Centre, this term our children have also had swimming lessons, sports fixtures (tag rugby, football, netball and hockey) with other local schools and also had weekly climbing a sessions @parthian_climbing_ldn. We can’t wait for next term’s #sport!
What an experience 🧭
This week year 5 and 6 enjoyed a fascinating talk and tour of @dulwichcollege, viewing some of the school’s Shackleton artefacts as part of their Frozen Kingdom project.
The tour culminated in the children seeing the James Caird, the boat on which Shackleton and five companions sailed 800 nautical miles to South Georgia to rescue 22 crew members stranded on Elephant Island 🐘

Enrichment 🧗
As part of our varied curriculum, this half term as part of their weekly enrichment the children will be climbing at @parthian_climbing_ldn.
The children really challenged themselves and were amazing in their first session. They will be honing their clipping, climbing and bouldering skills for the next 5 weeks 🧗♂️ and we can’t wait to hear all about it!

Christmas cheer 🎅
We had a wonderful Christmas lunch full of festive cheer, music and delicious food last week. The children wore their Christmas jumpers and hats and enjoyed their last lunch of the term.

Enterprise 🎄
We had a fantastic enterprise morning this week with our budding entrepreneurs. The children made a selection of things to sell to their parents, all linked to their termly project.
Every term, each class has a budget to make and create products or design a game to play to raise money. The money is rolled over to next term, and our enterprise winners are picked at the end of the year!

We had such a brilliant two days with the technology lead from @blvuegroup last week making music via bananas, trialing out our new 3D printer and more!
The parents also had an e-safety workshop on keeping children safe online 💻
