🌳✨ What a fantastic morning at our Reception 2026 Forest School event! ✨🌳
Our future Reception children and their parents got stuck into den building, showing plenty of creativity, teamwork and imagination along the way. 🏕️🌿 Working together in teams, they collected logs and sticks, attached and hammered tarps securely into place, and decorated their dens to make them as cosy and creative as possible. 🔨🍃
Congratulations to our prize winners for the cosiest den, best teamwork and most creative design! 👏
Events like these are a wonderful way for children and families to get to know each other before starting school, helping to make the transition into Reception as smooth and enjoyable as possible. 💙

🏰✨ Year 3 Bring History to Life at the Tower of London ✨🏰
As part of their history unit on how places change over time, Year 3 visited the Tower of London, one of Britain’s most famous landmarks.
From its position on the River Thames, the Tower has played many roles throughout history and has witnessed centuries of trade, migration, exploration and even crime, making it the perfect place to explore how the UK has changed over time. 🌍📚
The children took part in an exciting Prisoner Tour, discovering what life was like for those held within the Tower’s walls. They learned about famous prisoners, including Sir Walter Raleigh and Alice Tankerville, and explored how wealth and status influenced their experiences and fortunes.
A fascinating and immersive day that brought history to life and helped deepen the children’s understanding of how significant places evolve through the centuries. 💙✨

🌟What a fantastic first day of the new half term for our Pre-Prep Nursery children yesterday! 🌟
The children settled in brilliantly and enjoyed exploring the classroom and outdoor areas. From painting seaside scenes 🎨 and pirate adventures in the role play section 🏴☠️ to sharing books 📚 and playing outside on the bikes and with the construction area 🦺, there was lots of fun to be had.
They also got busy with their learning, matching CVC words to pictures, completing missing numbers on 1-10 number charts, and enjoying their 1:1 reading sessions. 🔤📖🔢
A wonderful first day full of learning and play and making the most of the sunshine ☀️ ! ✨🌈

🇫🇷 ✨ Year 5 had a fantastic residential in France last week, enjoying five packed days full of culture, history and adventure! 🌍💙
During their trip, the children:
📍 Visited the Lochnagar Crater and German cemetery, reflecting on the lives lost during the war
🪖 Explored the Somme trenches, where history truly came to life
🛍️ Practised their French while shopping in local markets and shops
🏖️ Enjoyed time together on the beach
🐌🍫 Visited both a snail farm and a chocolate factory… any guesses which was the favourite?! 😄
It was a wonderful experience where the children showed great independence, maturity and curiosity, creating memories with their friends to end the half term. 🌟

Year 3 and Year 4 are currently away at @pgl.adventures and having a brilliant time!
They’ve thrown themselves into a range of activities, from blindfolded orienteering, where teamwork and communication were key, to climbing challenges that saw the children supporting one and bravely facing great heights 🧗♂️ 👏
It’s been wonderful to hear about the confidence, resilience and teamwork that they’ve shown and we’re so proud of them all ✨

This term, Year 1 and 2 have been focusing on mindfulness as part of their weekly enrichment.
The children began by creating their own mindfulness booklets, exploring themes of calmness and wellbeing 📖 🌱
So far, they’ve enjoyed
🧘♀️ A yoga session with a qualified yoga teacher
🥋 Karate with our resident karate teacher
🌳 A mindful walk, focusing on their senses and the world around them
And to finish the term, they’ll be taking part in a calming painting workshop at a local studio 🎨
It’s a wonderful opportunity for the children to slow down, recharge and explore different ways to support their wellbeing 💙
