The 'London Games'

What a final run into the Summer holidays we have had in Reception to Year 3! Covid restrictions may have put back our original plans for an indoor show, but this didn't stop us from taking the show outside! All children and parents took part in the 'London Games', a showcase set in the woods of Wimbledon Common. With pupils learning all about London in the first half of the Summer Term, challenges were set to test their knowledge of London as well as map reading skills. The first activity was a treasure hunt. Split into teams, children and parents had to hunt for clues using their map of the Common which would reveal a famous London landmark. Along the way, children collected sticks and natural materials to face the next challenge of creating a natural floor art of Tower Bridge. We finished the event with a picnic and London themed quiz. It was a lovely day to finally bring the WPS community together. Showcases to make children's learning visible to their parents come in many forms and these unique events are something that make Wandsworth Prep very special.
