We kicked off Science with a brilliant afternoon of workshops for both Lower and Upper School with @educationgroupworkshops.
The children loved getting hands-on and discovering the wonders of science through exciting experiments!
⚡ Electricity – learning about conductors by ...holding hands to complete a circuit and light up a bulb
↔️ Forces – exploring how pushes and pulls affect the movement of objects
🚀 Fizzy rockets – watching how forces can push back and make things fly
🌱 Capillary action – discovering how plants move water through a colourful experiment transferring water from one glass to another
Such a fun, interactive afternoon that sparked curiosity and got everyone excited about the power and wonder of science! 🌟🔍

Ms Sokoli has been part of the Wandsworth Prep community since 2018 and has grown within the school and now inspires our youngest learners every day. 💙

📚 We had a wonderful day celebrating World Book Day today! Mrs Pache greeted the children dressed as Cinderella as they came in through the gates, setting the tone for a magical day of stories and imagination 👑
Our much loved annual catwalk was back, giving the children the chance to... proudly show off their fantastic costumes to parents and friends - many characters were brought to life!
Parents also joined their classes to read to the children in the morning, teachers shared stories across different year groups, and our older children spent time reading with our younger children throughout the day 💙 📖
Reading is a valued part of our curriculum, and days like this are a fantastic way to spark imagination, celebrate creativity and inspire a lifelong love of reading 📖 ✨

Last week Year 5 had a fantastic trip to Hampton Court Palace as part of this term’s project.
In the workshops the explore Tudor artefacts and historical sources, deepening their understanding of life in Tudor England and the reign of Henry VIII.
A highlight was the Tudor ...kitchens workshop, where they discovered the contrast between life as the King and the hard work behind the scenes preparing royal feasts. A brilliant hands-on way to bring history to life 👑 🍞 🔥

Miss Ritchie has been part of the Wandsworth Prep community since 2017 and has been our dedicated Reception teacher since 2023. An experienced Early Years and Reception specialist, she has taught both in her native New Zealand and... here in London, bringing a wealth of knowledge and warmth to our youngest learners.
Her favourite part of teaching? Seeing the joy on children’s faces when they learn something new, sharing special reading moments together and watching their wonderful ideas shape and drive their learning.
