The Role
We are seeking a committed and experienced SENCO to join our team and lead the
provision for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The successful
candidate will play a key role in ensuring high-quality teaching and learning for all pupils,
removing barriers to learning and promoting inclusion across the school.
Key Responsibilities
● Oversee the day-to-day operation of the school’s SEND policy.
● Coordinate provision for pupils with SEND, including those with EHCPs.
● Work closely with teachers, support staff, external agencies, and families to support
pupils’ learning and progress.
● Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all SEND pupils.
● Advise and support colleagues in differentiating and adapting teaching.
● Monitor and report on progress and outcomes for pupils with SEND.
● Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and the SEND Code of Practice.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
● Holds the National Award for SEN Coordination (or is working towards it).
● Has a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation.
● Is an excellent communicator with strong organisational skills.
● Has experience of supporting pupils with a range of needs, including social,
emotional, and mental health (SEMH), communication and interaction, and cognition
and learning.
● Can work effectively with pupils, parents, staff, and external professionals.
