Year 6 ventured into the Victorian era by visiting the home of Charles Dickens in London. The class started off with a Dickensian writing workshop where they invented characters that would belong in a novel and wrote about them using real goose-feather quills! They realised that it was a lot harder than it looks in Harry Potter! Afterwards, the pupils had a guided tour of the house, and focused on certain rooms and aspects and items located within them, such as a hedgehog in the kitchen and a hot water bottle for the feet, which the Victorians called A Water Pig!
