The Autumn term’s Enterprise Fair at Wandsworth Prep was an event filled with innovation, energy, and entrepreneurial spirit. The entire school buzzed with excitement as the children set up their tables and showcased their games and handmade items.
Our termly enterprise is a unique opportunity for children to step into the shoes of entrepreneurs and experience firsthand the challenges and rewards of running a business. Linked to the project of the term, the children create goods to sell to the parents. From keyrings to cards, the children are given a class budget to spend on resources and then make items. The class with the most amount of profit at the end of the school year is the winning class.
The children and teachers work tirelessly for weeks leading up to the fair, collaborating with their friends, researching and designing products and services. The level of creativity was off the charts!
Each stall told a different story— the children showcased the hard work, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit that went into making it.
Teachers were on hand to offer guidance, but the children were the stars of the show. It was amazing to see how they took ownership of their ideas and really embraced the challenge.
One of the best parts of the event was how it brought the school community together and we can’t wait for our next fair at the end of the spring term.
