We’re so excited to announce that we were award the Best Newcomer Award at the TFL (Transport For London) Top Schools Award.
The day was a chance for TFL to recognise creativity, impact and commitment to active travel by the 27 regional finalist schools. We were recognised for our work on promoting sustainable travel to and from school, reducing car use and promoting road safety.
Children from Year 3 and 4 attended the event at the Oval on behalf of the school where they also learnt all about the design process of posters around stations in London. The children had a session on ‘Design for Change’ led by Sau-Fun Mo who showed the children how to design impactful campaign posters. They designed their poster for the London Transport Museum in Covent Garden and it is now on display for half term. After lunch they listened to a ‘Voices for Change’ session on how body language and gestures can help communicate messages more powerfully.
